"I've always been attracted to the warmth, attention to detail, and simple beauty of folk art. From painted signs, to embroidered handkerchiefs, to sailor's scrimshaw -- these handmade objects tell stories of humor, courage, and love. They are my inspiration when I sit down with a pen and start to draw."
"The Pop line originated when Eva agreed to help me print a couple of items I designed for my home, and we decided that since we were already going to the trouble of setting up the press, we should try to sell a few of them. I still feel a little surprised every time someone pays to own something that I helped create. Instead of worrying about what other people might like, I just try to design items I want in my home because they make me smile every time I see them. Hopefully they add a little happiness to your life, too."
"Can letterpress be pretty and funny? We'll answer that with another question:
Definitely? Lark is all about bringing together the surreal, silly, and sweet in life -- and having fun while we do it. The process looks a little different with each piece, but whether it brings together vintage imagery or modern type, it has the same message: life is always better when you laugh."
