looking lovely: Midsummer Celebration

Kirk and I once celebrated Midsummer on a small family farm in the Danish countryside. We drank homemade elderberry juice, ate summer salads, fruit, and fresh baked bread with butter. We sang songs and told stories around the bonfire until the semi darkness finally came.

It was magical.

I found these photos of a Swedish Midsummer celebration on the Dos Family blog, and had to share. Aren’t they beautiful? I’d love to go back to Scandinavia. I think Midsummer would be the perfect time.
